Demonstration of UPC Submit

As states begin to streamline their enforcement procedures for regulated products, the use of UPC’s, otherwise known as Universal Product Codes, to verify registration status is becoming increasingly popular.

Most retail products contain a ten to twelve digit UPC, which is used for tracking and selling purposes within the marketplace.  Kelly Registration Systems now offers the ability for registrants to electronically submit their UPC’s to multiple states in one free, online submission.  Access to UPC Submit, as well as Document Submit and Erenewals, requires a secure user name and password, which can be obtained through Kelly Registration Systems.

Step by Step Process:

The user visits www.kellysolutions.com/erenewals/upcsubmit and logs in via a username and password, provided by Kelly Registration Systems.  The password used for UPC Submit is the same as the one assigned to the user for Erenewals and Document Submit.

The user will be presented with a list of states currently participating in UPC Submit.

After selecting a state, the user will be given a list of companies with registered products in the selected states.    The user simply clicks on “Enter UPC’S” for any company listed.

Once the company has been selected, the user will be presented with a list of products registered within the state.  Each product is identified with its EPA number, and the number of UPC’s currently on file with www.kellysolutions.com is listed to the right.    To enter UPC’s for any product, simply click on the “UPC” link.

A new screen will appear, where the user can enter up to ten different UPC’s for the selected product.

In addition to the UPC, users may enter descriptive information (such as size or color) in the “identifier” field

Once uploaded, the program scans all product and state records within the data on www.kellysolutions.com  and finds all products that have the same EPA ID as the selected product.  The user will be given a list of matches that may reflect the same product in differing states.  If desired, the user can ‘check off’ products in other states, and the UPC submitted for the original state and product will be submitted to the selected products and states, as well.

When completed, the user will be returned to the UPC data entry screen.  The user may scroll to the bottom of the page, and any UPC’s associated with the product will be listed for reference.

The UPC information is then available for state departments for review.
